Community Satisfaction With Policing on Guam

Guam is a Pacific Island in Micronesia with complex colonial history. Strategically located, an unincorporated territory of the United States and critical military asset. Policing on influenced by external stakeholders budgetary limitations. Recently, community policing model was introduced to better meet needs expectations. This study explored relevance predictors satisfaction police service provision Guamanian context. Residents ( n = 701) participated survey that included demographic characteristics, context, police–citizen interactions. Satisfaction predicted age perceptions procedural justice, performance, legitimacy. Higher income lower satisfaction. The findings highlight importance legitimacy related constructs for Guam. Initiatives focus performance justice may help improve
